The new StopTech Z8 big brake kits are available!
There is a
front kit,
a rear kit, and a
4-wheel kit. The good news is that it is
possible to upgrade the front first and do the rear later, unlike some of the
other StopTech applications where you must upgrade all at once.
The 4-wheel kit is a complete bolt-on
installation which preserves the stock
parking brake function. Unique to StopTech, the factory brake pad wear
sensors simply snap in place into the new calipers, so a dashboard message tells
the driver when it is time to have the brake pads serviced. Replacement
pads may be ordered from Zeckhausen Racing or from any Porsche dealer.
Virtually every pad manufacturer builds pads for these calipers, ranging from
street driving to club race/driving school to full race compounds.
The front brakes fit underneath the stock Z8 wheels by
utilizing 4mm hubcentric spacers (included in kit) which preserve the hubcentric
wheel mounting lip. Calipers are available in either black or red, and
rotors may be ordered slotted or cross-drilled at no extra charge.
Calipers with silver or yellow high-temperature finish may be ordered at no
extra cost, but require up to 30 days lead time.

The stock BMW Z8 front rotors are 334mm x 32mm.
The StopTech front rotors are 355mm x 32mm.
